Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Berhad Anti-Corruption Policy Statement
Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Berhad (“HLM Takaful”) takes a zero-tolerance position on bribery and corruption and is guided by our corporate values which call upon us to act professionally, fairly and with integrity in our business dealings and relationships.
In relation to this, we are fully committed to implementing and enforcing practices and systems that ensure corruption and bribery is prevented at all levels in HLM Takaful. As part of our commitment to uphold ethical business practices, we also expect our third-party partners such as contractors, vendors, suppliers, consultants, representatives, or any other persons associated with us, to share the same level of commitment we have towards bribery and corruption.
We realise that our reputation for acting fairly is dependent on the values of the company and the action of our employees. To this end, we have undertaken a comprehensive approach to ensure a culture of compliance is imbued into the very fabric of our organisational ethos and values. Our employees are constantly reminded of the need to comply with the laws relating to anti-corruption and bribery applicable in business operations and this is achieved through the implementation of strong policies, procedures, training and, through developing mechanisms of check and balances to prevent the occurrence of improper practices within HLM Takaful.
In line with this, we are fully supportive of, and ensure full cooperation with external agencies to prevent fraudulent acts, specifically to the following main offences stipulated in the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 (“MACCA”):
- Soliciting/Receiving Gratification (Sections 16 & 17(a) MACCA);
- Offering/Giving Gratification (Section 17(b) MACCA); and
- Intending to Deceive (Section 18 MACCA).
